Hanno City Library (飯能市立図書館) is an eye-catching library, to say the least. When you imagine a public library, it’s not often you associate the word “stylish” along with it. This library, however, is definitely stylish and looks far from a conventional public library.
The library was redesigned in 2013 using Nishikawa timber which is one of the staples of Hanno City. The columns and ceilings incorporate Nishikawa timber and the large glass windows surrounding the building provide an open but warm and comforting atmosphere.
